Gordon James has specialized for 25 years in network television production and multi-media applications in Canada and the United States. Gordon has gained a reputation as one of Canada’s top television producers of stage, concert and “live” awards specials and events. In 2004 Gordon formed Team Adrenaline (www.teamadrenaline.com) to produce a major widescreen HDTV film for Olympic SPIRIT Toronto, the first Olympic SPIRIT location in the world, and a joint venture between the International Olympic Committee and the Canadian Olympic Committee. In 2005, “The Calling” won the prestigious “Amova” Award at the World Sports Movies & T.V. Festival in Milan, Italy and this year won “The Olympic Spirit Award” at the 1st FICTS Sport Film Festival in Warsaw, Poland. Recently having worked on a video for the Canadian Council of Christians and Jews, he continues to produce Canada’s CEO of the Year profiles, this year featuring Research in Motion’s Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie; and last year Gwyn Morgan, CEO of EnCana – a project he has produced, directed and served as interviewer for the past 11 years – as well as produce and direct for the first six years of “Canada’s Top 40 Under 40” live awards presentation. Gordon has served as Producer and Executive Producer for the Canadian Country Music Awards for 11 years, as well as Canada’s premiere awards trio, the Juno’s, Genie’s and Gemini's. Of note – Gordon’s presentation of the Canadian Country Music Awards was the first Canadian awards show to air on American Television; The Nashville Network He produced many other live events including CTV Fall and Olympic Launch presentations. Gordon began his career at CTV as Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Planning and Development. Gordon was Supervising Producer of Entertainment Programming for 11 years at the CTV Television Network. Some highlights include Celine Dion’s first-ever, English language television special, “The Color of My Love”. During the time with CTV, Gordon also produced specials with David Foster and Rita MacNeil, as well as numerous major corporate launch presentations. He also produced and directed Terry Kelly’s first music video, “In My Father’s House”. As an independent producer Gordon produced “Cities 2000” for the “Travel Channel” profiling the city of Charleston South Carolina in association with Kestrel Communications of Atlanta. He was the co-producer of "Celine Dion, Let's Talk About Love", a TV special shot at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, aired in Canada on CTV, and sold in numerous markets around the world. Following the success of Let’s Talk About Love, Gordon also produced the tour video for sponsor Ericsson supporting of Celine’s U.S. tour. In the sporting scene Gordon was Supervising Producer for "The Official Film of the XV Olympic Winter Games" in Calgary, 1988. He also worked for ABC Sports on The Montreal Olympics in 1976, and Lake Placid, in 1980. In addition, there have been a number of broadcast assignments with ABC Sports on programs such as Monday Night Baseball, World Gymnastics Championships, World Cup of Athletics, and golf’s US Open and US Women’s Open. In 1991, Gordon produced three 30 second commercials for the Toronto ‘96 Organising Committee (TOOC) in ten working days. Gordon has worked with some of Canada’s top business elite. His video portraits have included Gwyn Morgan, Philip Orsino, Dominic D’Alessandro, Ron Southern, Matthew Barrett, and Rick George. He was engaged to create a video profile for [then] CN CEO Paul Tellier’s recognition as the recipient of the B’nai Brith’s Award of Merit. He interviewed The Rt. Hon Brian Mulroney, Doug Young, former Transportation Minister, and members of the Tellier family. His interviewing experience includes Shania Twain, Peter Lougheed, and NFL Legend Terry Bradshaw.
