Nina Beveridge - Producer and Director

Producer / Director / Creative Director

Nina Beveridge is the President and co-owner of Beevision Productions, a post-production and multimedia company that she founded in 1993. Currently she is busy developing a number of projects including series, documentaries and multi-platform projects. Definitely an innovator, she likes to approach every project with a fresh eye, always considering the audience perspective.

2006 was a busy year for Nina. In collaboration with Hop To It Productions partner Susan Nation, she launched “Hip Hop in the T-Dot” an instructional dance and news magazine series with an innovative web site, airing on the Rogers Network and “Big Grin’s House Party” a beautifully designed and highly entertaining preschool kid’s series with a dynamic companion web site to teach tots literacy, nutrition and dance in a very fun way. Nina and Susie are also actively developing their multi-platform series “Cupid’s Café” a participatory 48 x 2 minute live action dramedy series about love and relationships that is part of an innovative interactive multi-platform project called “Create A Date” (the Winner of Round One in The Great Canadian Video Game Competition).

Nina was the Producer, Director and Writer of The Idealist - James Beveridge, Film Guru, 2006 Worldfest-Houston Remi Award winner “World Peace & Understanding”, which premiered on TVO in May 2006.  This feature length POV documentary film explores the life and work of Nina’s father. It was shot in 2004 throughout India, the USA and Canada, chronicling 50 years of her father’s life in the documentary movement.

In 2003 Nina Beveridge produced a 12-minute High Definition film for Olympic Spirit Toronto.  The Calling is comprised of nearly 100 years of rarely seen Official Olympic Footage and features a 10.1 surround sound mix with an original orchestral score and complex sound design. (see Awards)

Through Beevision, Nina has provided animation and broadcast design to many networks and broadcasters in Canada and the USA, seeking to create unique, original content, derived from the wealth of creative experience that the Beevision team has amassed. Her clients have included: ABC, CBC, CTV,  IOC, NBA, the Toronto Raptors, NHL, TSN, TVO, W, Alliance-Atlantis, Olympic Spirit and a wide range of premium ad agencies and corporate clients. In 1998 on behalf of Beevision Nina received a special Gemini Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement for their work on the development of the Puppetworks digital motion-capture system.

Prior to forming Beevision, Nina was contracted in 1992 by CTV to be the Graphics Director for their coverage of the Olympic Games in Barcelona and the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer.

Nina’s career began in 1981 when she was hired by Rogers Cablesystems to create a graphics department to service their new pay television system. From there she became the Designer for CBC’s ‘Project IRIS’ teletext field trial; launched the on air look and graphics department for TSN in 1984; worked as an Animator and then Creative Director for Greenlight Animation and then the Image Group Canada/Soho Post. She was a founding director of Inter/Access in 1982 - a non profit digital artist’s organization that is still on the cutting edge of interactive design and experimentation.
