MANDALA is an experimental, multi-planar, non linear exploration of a work of art entitled “The Trail to Charizoni” created by talented artist, photographer and drug addict Alex Beveridge. This hallucinogenic and humorous interactive documentary plays with the intersections of time and space, framed by the main panels in the mandala. Each panel depicts a period in the evolution of life – from the first amoeba to man’s ascent to outer space. Producer/Director Nina Beveridge will weave fragments of her brother’s life story throughout the evolutionary journey, using her brother’s written interpretation of the mandala as her guide. Innovative animation techniques will bring Alex’s dragons, birds, fish and other icons to life to represent his altered state of mind. Alex passed away from a drug overdose in February 2002.
Collaboration on sound design will be by Sound Dogs / Stephen Barden (Requiem for a Dream).
